Cuckoo has wrapped production in Germany. Actors Dan Stevens and Jessica Henwick are revealed to be part of the cast along with Euphoria actress Hunter Schafer. The Neon-distributed horror movie, which is scheduled for release in 2023, was first announced in 2021 with little detail about what it will be about apart from its genre. The ensemble is led by Schafer and consists of Jan Bluthardt, Marton Csókás, and Greta Fernández, alongside Stevens and Henwick.
The movie is written and directed by Tilman Singer who previously worked with Bluthardt on the horror-thriller Luz. Jeff Deutchman, Ryan Friscia, Emily Thomas, and Tom Quinn are EPs while Thor Bradwell, Markus Halberschmidt, Ken Kao, Ben Rimmer, Josh Rosenbaum, and Maria Tsigka are producers. The project is a collaboration between Fiction Park and Waypoint Entertainment.
Stevens is known for playing in I’m Your Man which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival and became Germany’s entry for best international feature film at this year’s Academy Awards. The actor was announced as the lead of the Godzilla vs. Kong sequel directed by Adam Wingard.
Henwick will star opposite Julia Garner in Kitty Green’s The Royal Hotel and is also anticipated in Netflix’s The Gray Man and Knives Out 2. Her most recent roles were in Matrix: Resurrections and Blade Runner.
Meanwhile, Schafer has also joined the cast of Hunger Games: Ballad Of The Songbirds And Snakes. Click here to read more on the actress’s role in the new Hunger Games movie.
