Rising star Dakota Johnson is set to star opposite Chris Hemsworth, Jeff Bridges, and Russell Crowe in the thriller Bad Times at the El Royale, according to The Tracking Board.
Johnson’s claim to fame is the Fifty Shades of Grey series for which she will be appearing once again this February in Fifty Shades Freed. She has also captured audiences in films such as Luca Guadagnino’s A Bigger Splash, and the comedy How to Be Single, and now she is poised to take on a whole new genre with director Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods).
Bad Times at the El Royale will take place in the 1960s at a seedy motel in Lake Tahoe, California. The plot details are currently being kept under wraps beyond those few tidbits. Goddard is directing based off his own original script.
Johnson will begin shooting soon. Until this one comes out, though, she will next be seen in Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria remake and in The Peanut Butter Falcon with Shia Labeouf.
