Maia Kealoha, who played Lilo in the 2025 live-action movie, appeared during the presentation before Disney revealed a title treatment teasing the highly anticipated character Angel’s role in the sequel.

Angel, also known as Experiment 624, has become a popular character among fans of the Lilo & Stitch franchise. She first appeared in the animated series Lilo & Stitch: The Series and eventually became closely connected to Stitch. Bringing her into the live-action movies gives the sequel a chance to introduce another character that longtime fans will recognize. Chris Sanders is also returning for Lilo & Stitch 2. Sanders co-directed the original animated Lilo & Stitch and provided the voice of Stitch. He is now writing and directing the sequel, giving the new movie another connection to the original film.
