Fans of Lilo & Stitch will get to see another familiar character when the sequel arrives. Angel, the pink alien who becomes Stitch’s love interest, is set to appear in Lilo & Stitch 2. According to The Wrap, Disney revealed the news during its D23 presentation. Maia Kealoha, who played Lilo in the 2025 live-action movie, appeared during the presentation before Disney revealed a title treatment teasing the highly anticipated character Angel’s role in the sequel.
Angel, also known as Experiment 624, has become a popular character among fans of the Lilo & Stitch franchise. She first appeared in the animated series Lilo & Stitch: The Series and eventually became closely connected to Stitch. Bringing her into the live-action movies gives the sequel a chance to introduce another character that longtime fans will recognize. Chris Sanders is also returning for Lilo & Stitch 2. Sanders co-directed the original animated Lilo & Stitch and provided the voice of Stitch. He is now writing and directing the sequel, giving the new movie another connection to the original film.
Disney has not revealed many details about the story yet, including how Angel will fit into the plot or who will provide her voice. Those details will likely be announced as the sequel gets closer to production and release. The announcement comes after the success of Disney’s 2025 live-action Lilo & Stitch, which brought the classic animated story back to theaters with a new cast. With Angel now joining the live-action world, Lilo & Stitch 2 has another familiar face to add to the story.
More details about the sequel are expected as development continues, but for fans of the franchise, Angel’s arrival is already a pretty exciting addition.
