

Despite the previous Conjuring movie, The Conjuring: Last Rites, seemingly being the last of the Warrens fans, Warner Bros and New Line Cinema are in talks to produce a prequel film, involving a younger Ed and Lorraine Warren.
Short film director Rodrigue Huart is in talks to direct this prequel film. Richard Naing and Ian Goldberg, who co-wrote Last Rites, as well as other films in the Conjuring franchise, such as The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It and The Nun II, are also in talks to co-write the screenplay for this prequel film.
This news comes after The Conjuring: Last Rites became the highest-grossing film in the Conjuring franchise, grossing $177 million domestically and $310 million internationally, for a total worldwide gross of $487 million.
This prequel film is reportedly in the early stages of development. So, there are plenty of details about this prequel film that are currently unknown. One of those is the actors who will play Ed and Lorraine Warren, whether it be Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, who have portrayed the roles in all the previous movies in the Conjuring franchise, or Orion Smith and Madison Lawlor, who played the younger Ed and Lorraine Warren in the flashback opening of Last Rites.
