‘Conclave’ And ‘The Brutalist’ Lead BAFTA Awards With The Most Wins

The BAFTA film awards have recently concluded today on Febuary 16, 2025, with Conclave and The Brutalist each picking up four wins as Conclave led the most nominations  of the year with twelve different categories. Conclave won for best film of the year, best British outstanding film, best adapted screenplay from the novel of the same name by Richard Harris, and best for editing.

The Brutalist on the other hand won for best director, best lead actor (Adrien Brody), best cinematography, and best original score. Brody thanked the fellow nominess during his acceptance speech and said,

“I want to thank the British public for embracing me and my creative endeavors, England has felt quite a bit like home lately.”

In addition to the renowned recognition for The Brutalist and Conclave, Mikey Madison also won for her starring role in Anora and said in her acceptance speech,

“I want to take a moment to recognize the sex worker community. I just want to say that I see you. You deserve respect and human deceny. I will always be a friend and ally.”

As the world prepares for the Oscars on March 2, 2025; Conclave, The Brutalist, and Anora are all nominated for best picture with Mikey Madison, Ralph Fiennes, and Adrian Brody all being up for grabs in two weeks.
