Marvel Studios opened their doors to select journalists on Monday in order to release some details about their most secretive projects, reports the Hollywood Reporter. Among the films featured was the upcoming Ant-Man movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp . The journalists were invited into the concept design office of director Peyton Reed and concept design artist Andy Park, and treated to the designs for the film that will release in the theaters in July 2018.
The art portrayed Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) continuing the Giant Man role he debuted in Captain America: Civil War. Reed noted that the first movie featured Rudd in a more outdated, classical suit, but that the suit was upgraded in Captain America: Civil War, and will continue to be upgraded as the series continues. Images of Rudd in the suit depicted him using gigantic everyday objects.
Other images depicted an adorable dog grasping a car full of people in it’s jaws, though it’s not clear whether the car was shrunken down or the dog enlarged. Also, both Ant-Man and the Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) have many different upgraded suits that have been sketched out in concept. Reed said that the new suit was designed taking into account the needs of the story.
The concept art promises a unique Ant-Man film to come.
