Cole Sprouse and Kathryn Newton will star in Lisa Frankestein for Focus Features. The upcoming horror comedy is written by Diablo Cody and directed by Zelda Williams. Alongside Mason Novick, Cody will also produce the movie. The duo has worked together on several projects, including Juno, Jennifer’s Body, Young Adult, and Tully. Jeff Lamper is going to be an executive producer while Michelle Momplaisir will be the creative executive.

Set in 1989, the film follows an unpopular high schooler who accidentally re-animates a handsome Victorian corpse during a lightning storm and starts to rebuild him into the man of her dreams using the broken tanning bed in her garage.
Sprouse is currently part of Riverdale, whose seventh and final season is expected to premiere in 2023. The actor was also part of HBO Max’s Moonshot. Newton, who played in Big Little Lies and Freaky, will also star in Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
