Cinedigm picks up Olivia Wilde’s ‘Meadowland’

Cinedigm has snapped up the North American distribution rights to the psychological thriller Meadowland. The film, which had its world premiere at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, stars Olivia Wilde (The Lazarus Effect) and Luke Wilson (The Skeleton Twins).Cinematographer Reed Morano (The Skeleton Twins) makes her directorial debut on the film, working from a script by Chris Rossi.  The story centers around a couple (Wilde, a teacher and Wilson, a cop) coping with the disappearance of their son and the psychological toll it takes on them, and on their relationships with the other people in their lives.

Elisabeth Moss (TV’s Mad Men), John Leguizamo (Chef), Giovanni Ribisi (Ted 2) and Jurassic World‘s Ty Simpkins co-star. Wilde is also listed as a producer, alongside  Aaron L. Gilbert, Margot Hand, and Matt Tauber.

According to Yolanda Macias, Executive VP of Acquisitions for Cinedigm:

Meadowland is precisely the sort of compelling, filmmaker-driven and performance-driven work that makes independent film so exciting,  Wilde is electrifying and Wilson is heartbreaking in Morano’s remarkable debut. It is wonderful to be working with such a deeply talented team.

The film is slated for an October 2015 release.
