As Alexis Garcia exits the Fifth Season, Christopher Slager has now received a promotion to become head film operations at the company. During the transition into launching his venture (which will receive Fifth Season backing), Garcia will continue to act as a consultant for the company.
Slager previously worked with Endeavor Content and WME, and his film credits include works, such as The Florida Project, Mudbound, and The Book Club.
Co-CEOs Graham Taylor and Chris Rice said this of a Slager in an announcement they made on Wednesday, “Christopher is one of the most dynamic and entrepreneurial executives working today…We believe there is a huge opportunity ahead in the film space, and we are committed to expanding our focus on in-house production and development under his leadership.”
Speaking on the new position, Slager stated, “Over the last decade and a half, I’ve been inspired by colleagues and artists whose vision and tenacity have brought forth many of the great movies of our time. Our film group at Fifth Season has learned and grown a lot over the last few years and has steadily been built to offer an alternative to filmmakers in a moment of industry transformation.”
Fifth Season’s recent film credits include films like 80 for Brady, Flora and Son, and The Lost Daughter (directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal). Their upcoming titles are Animals (starring Matt Damon and directed by Ben Affleck), The Beast (starring Samuel L. Jackson), and Anniversary (featuring an ensemble cast with stars like Kyle Chandler and Diane Lane).
