Christoph Waltz Reprises Role as Blofeld in ‘Bond 25’

Christoph Waltz returns as the infamous villain Ernst Blofeld, 007’s archenemy, according to Variety. Waltz first played Blofeld in 2015’s Spectre. The upcoming Bond film is filled with star-studded cast. This includes Rami Malek, Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, and Billy Magnussen. This will be Craig’s final film where he will be playing 007.

Bond 25 is set to take Bond out of retirement as an agent and into a whole new mission as he is tasked to save a kidnapped scientist. While doing so, he is faced with a new villain, played by Rami Malek, who wields dangerous technology.

Due to the fact that Bond always travels across the globe to complete missions, this film will be shot in different locations around the world. These settings include Jamaica, Norway, and Italy. Filming is currently taking place in London.

Waltz’s credits include Django: Unchained and The Zero Theorem. He is currently working on Wes Anderson’s film The French Dispatch along with an untitled comedy directed by Woody Allen that is expected to bow sometime in 2020.

The film is scheduled for release in the U.K. on April 3, 2020 and premieres in the U.S. on April 8, 2020.
