Chris Evans‘ role as the iconic Captain America will end officially with Avengers: Endgame on the horizon. Despite retiring as the character, it won’t stop the actor from pursuing more ambitious films roles. Evans’ next role after the heroic avenger will be a film based on D. Eric Maikranz’s novel The Reincarnationist Papers and will be known as The Infinite.
The film will be directed by The Equalizer director, Antoine Fuqua, and centers around a group of people called The Infinite who have been reincarnated over many centuries. Their goal is to defeat an evil force that threatens mass destruction. Their best chance comes from a man with schizophrenia who dreams about their past lives and could be the key to defeating their opponent.
The film will be distributed by Paramount with Transformers producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura alongside Mark Vahradian, John Zaozirny and Rafi Crohn. The film will be a good new change for Evans as he puts away the shield to move on to different film projects and further his career.
Evans’ next release is, of course, Avengers: Endgame, as well as Knives Out, which releases in November and stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Daniel Craig. So far, no other cast members have been named for The Infinite, but with Evans on board, many talented names are likely soon to follow.
