Canadian indie filmmaker Bruce McDonald (Pontypool) has started shooting his Halloween horror thriller Hellions in Toronto, with Chloe Rose (Degrassi: The Next Generation) and Robert Patrick (True Blood, Gangster Squad) joining the cast.
Shooting from an original screenplay by Pascal Trottier (The Colony), the story follows a pregnant teenager (Chloe Rose) who must survive a Halloween night straight from hell. Rachel Wilson (Rookie Blue) stars as the girl’s mom. Luke Bilyk (My Babysitter’s A Vampire) is her boyfriend and Rossif Sutherland (Reign) plays a doctor.
According to Shock Till You Drop, Producers Frank Siracusa (Hobo With A Shotgun) and Paul Lenart promise, “Hellions will deliver a perfect balance of scares, fun and blood.” Whizbang Films and Storyteller productions are also producing.
Filming will continue on Hellions through November and will be in theaters for Halloween 2014, where it figures to compete with a resurgent Paranormal Activity franchise.
