With her remake of the horror classic Carrie dropping this Friday, October 18, sixteen year old Chloe Grace Moretz is filling up her work schedule for 2014. Already going up against Denzel Washington in The Equalizer, Moretz has just signed on for the part of Phoebe in the adaptation of Sam Munson’s dark-but-funny pot-infused novel of teenage maladjustment, November Criminals.
Produced by Indian Paintbrush, the adaptation was penned by Steven Knight (Eastern Promises) with a re-write by director Sacha Gervasi (Hitchcock), who will also direct the project. . Addison (the male lead that has not yet been cast) is a rebellious senior from Washington D.C., whose negative character traits are not earning him any college recommendations. Addison sells pot to his classmates, is rude to his teachers, and obsesses over his BFF Phoebe (Moretz). When one of Addison’s classmates mysteriously dies, he becomes intent on investigating the murder.
Filming for November Criminals is scheduled to begin in January 2014.
Carrie opens this Friday, October 18, just in time for Halloween.
