Steven Holleran’s new film Headhunters starring Kevin Costner and Daniel Zovatto (It Follows, Woman of the Hour) have received two new cast members. Chloe East, hot off her performance in Heretic, will be starring in the film alongside Evan Mock, who is most well-known for his role on Gossip Girl.
The film is set to begin filming in January, with both Holleran and Costner working on the script. This will mark Steven Holleran’s directorial debut for a feature film. He previously has worked as a cinematographer for films such as Sympathy for the Devil and Chick Fight.
The adventure thriller follows Lazer (Kevin Costner) as he recruits local surfers in Bali, Indonesia to travel to a mysterious island where they can hopefully procure the perfect wave. To the surfers’ surprise, the island is inhabited by a tribe of headhunters who will stop at nothing to protect their land. Further plot details are scattered, but it will be up to the surfers to use their wits and find a way to escape.
Kevin Costner is coming off the release of his passion project Horizon: An American Saga — Chapter 1 this past summer, with multiple other parts in the works. Part 2 is ready and debuted at the Venice International Film Festival back in September, but its full release is still indefinitely delayed. Chloe East stars alongside Hugh Grant and Sophie Thatcher in the critically acclaimed Heretic, which debuted in theaters last weekend.
Headhunters is in active production but has no set release date. It is currently slated for some time in 2025.
