YouTube’s favorite cheeky and low-key interviewer, Amelia Dimoldenberg, has been announced to return as a Red Carpet correspondent for this year’s 98th annual Academy Awards.
Dimoldenberg’s constantly expanding online segment, Chicken Shop Date, airs on her YouTube channel, which has 3.34 million subscribers. She is known for interviewing entertainment industry professionals and talented artists in various professions in an intimately awkward, yet playful manner. Most, if not all of her interviews are set in small hole-in-the-wall restaurants that usually serve fried chicken to give/create a casual/cozy vibe in a casual atmosphere. This allows her guests to feel more compelled to open up and talk about their projects, personal lives, and their future.
She began her stint in structuring one-on-one interviews in 2014 with her first guest date ever, Ghetts, a British rapper. This spiraled into her followers “shipping” Dimoldenberg with various guests on her show. One notable example is with Andrew Garfield due to the natural chemistry they’ve shared during interviews on the red carpet (Golden Globes). Fans fully believed that they were dating, which prompted Garfield to officially appear as a “date” on her web series in 2024.
The charismatic hostess has been interviewing the stars on the red carpet at the Academy Awards Red Carpet for the past 2 years now and this year will mark her third.
