Lionsgate has released the first trailer for its mystery thriller The 9th Life of Louis Drax. Check it out below:
Nine year-old Louis (Aiden Longworth) has been hospitalized after falling off a cliff. Miraculously he is still breathing and in a coma, although he was thought to be dead for two hours. The circumstances of Louis’ accident are shrouded in mystery. His neurologist, Dr. Pascale (Jamie Dornan), becomes obsessed with finding out the truth about the strange circumstances surrounding the boy’s fall. Along with psychologist (Oliver Platt), the doctor attempts to access Louis’ consciousness and they begin by inquiring if his fall was really an accident. The doctors are stunned to find out that the boy was pushed off that cliff; suspicion begins to rest on Louis’ father (Aaron Paul). Meanwhile, we hear Louis’ mom (Sarah Gadon) saying in the trailer, “Maybe he figured it out. Sometimes I think he figured it all out.”
Also in the cast are Molly Parker (Netflix’s House of Cards) and Barbara Hershey (Sister). Max Minghella (actor, The Social Network) is making his screenwriting debut in adapting the bestselling novel of the same name by Liz Jensen. Alejandra Aja (Horns) is directing. Lionsgate’s Summit Premiere will be distributing, and the feature is scheduled to bow on September 2nd.
