Award-winning director Sion Sono (Suicide Club, Love Exposure) isn’t the only person who can make movies involving odd comedy, rampant violence, and the Japanese mafia, like Why Don’t You Play in Hell? Other award-winning director Takeshi Kitano (Kikujiro, Outrage) can, and has with his upcoming film, Ryuzo 7. The film’s first trailer makes it look a bit similar to the 2012 horror-comedy Cockneys vs Zombies; just replace the elderly British people with elderly Japanese people, and the zombies with yakuza. Warning: the trailer is in unsubtilted Japanese, but we at Mxdwn feel that scenes of people in their twilight years involved in action sequences transcend all language and cultural barriers.
