Aardam Studios makes stop-motion animated movies and shorts (like the Wallace and Gromit series, Shaun the Sheep, and Pirates!) enjoyed by children all over the world. Pos Eso will not be one of those films. Judging from trailer, it’s more South Park than Mickey Mouse – with vomit shots, urine shots, and gore shots aplenty. Though to be fair, Aardman isn’t actually making the movie, one of their former animators – who goes by the name Sam – is.
Since the death of her husband, the great bullfighter Gregorio, in a domestic accident. Trini, the world-famous flamenco dancer, has been deeply depressed and has abandoned the stage. To make matters worse, her son Damian’s rebelliousness has begun to border on dementia. Doctors, psychologists, and psychiatrists are all unable to explain the child’s worsening behaviour. Eventually the only possible explanation is a supernatural one. At this juncture, Trini gets in contact with Father Lenin, a defrocked priest who is suffering his own crisis of faith. As all signs indicate it is the only hope of restoring peace to this shattered family. Possessions, exorcisms, poltergeists, witchcrafts, blood, and flamenco dance, are the ingredients of this comedy, which pays tribute to all horror films.
Check out another sample of Sam’s work, independent of Aardman, to see why Pos Eso isn’t anything unusual for him.
