If you’ve ever wondered what Human Centipede would look like if it was made by Clerks and Dogma director, Kevin Smith, then check out the trailer for Kevin Smith’s upcoming horror film, Tusk.
When podcaster Wallace Bryton goes missing in the backwoods of Manitoba while interviewing a mysterious seafarer named Mr. Howe, his best friend and girlfriend team with an ex-cop to look for him.
That description really doesn’t do the oddness of the film justice. To give you a hint, the idea for the film came from an advertisement for room and board Smith read on a podcast – or, “Smodcast” – he hosts with friend and producer Scott Mosier. The advert included the phrase, “To take on position as my lodger, you must be prepared to wear the walrus suit for approximately two hours each day.” You can listen to the podcast episode with said advert on Tusk‘s official website.
The film stars Justin Long (Zack and Miri Make a Porno) as the unfortunate Bryton, and Michael Parks (Red State) as the insane Howe. The planned release date is September 19, 2014. As with most of his films, Smith is writing as well as directing Tusk.
