Someone is killing all the pretty people and it falls on legendary models Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty) and Hansel (Owen Wilson) to foil the nefarious plot in Zoolander 2. The follow-up to the 2001 cult classic sees our heroes enlisted to protect the beautiful people of the world, who seem to be turning up dead in alarming numbers, all of whom sport Zoolander’s signature ‘Blue Steel’ look upon their demise.
Much like the first film, which saw decent business in theaters but burnished its cult status upon the DVD release, Zoolander 2 features a who’s who of guest stars and cameos. Will Ferrell reprises his role from the original as the evil Mugatu, Zoolander’s nemesis, fresh out of prison and ready for a payback. Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation Game), Kristen Wiig, Justin Bieber, Olivia Munn, Fred Armisen, Billy Zane and Kanye West all make appearances, as does Penelope Cruz as an Interpol agent who secures Hansel’s trust because “she’s hot.”
