The newest thriller from Pierre Morel, the director of Taken and The Transporter, is The Gunman starring Sean Penn, Idris Elba, Javier Bardem and many others. In the latest trailer we see Penn’s character, Jack Terrier, fighting against forces he didn’t know were after him to save the woman he loves as well as his own life.
This movie, based on the bestseller The Prone Gunman by Jean-Patrick Machette, will show Terrier’s attempts to clear his name, sometimes for the very people he used to call his friends, including Idris Elba (Pacific Rim), playing Dupont. Rounding out the cast are Ray Winstone (The Departed) and Mark Rylance (Steven Spielberg’s upcoming The BFG). Terrier is an ex-Special Forces operative suffering from PTSD, who makes a living hiring himself out as a gunman – a job that gets him into trouble after he’s framed.
