Universal Pictures has unveiled the latest trailer for The Huntsman: Winter’s War, a prequel of sorts to the 2012 box office sleeper Snow White and the Huntsman. This time around, Snow White (and Kristen Stewart) are nowhere in sight, but an all-star ensemble cast headlined by Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Emily Blunt (Edge of Tomorrow), Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty) and Oscar winner Charlize Theron (Mad Max: Fury Road) spur this action-adventure.
The film explores the origin story of The Huntsman (Hemsworth), a warrior trained by the sisters Ravenna (Theron) and Freya (Blunt)- he was banished after falling in love with fellow warrior Sara (Chastain). The film later picks up following the events of Snow White and the Huntsman, where the icy Freya tries to snatch the famed Magic Mirror and, as a results, brings back the wicked Ravenna. A battle commences. Cedric Nicolas-Troyan directs – this marks his feature debut; he was previously the second unit director for both Snow White and the Huntsman and Maleficient. The screenplay was written by Evan Spiliotopoulos and Craig Mazan.
The Huntsman: Winter’s War hits theaters on April 22nd. Check out the latest trailer below:
