Check Out All the People in the ‘Reach Me’ Trailer

A gangster, a killer, an ex-convict, and a painter are just some of the character’s that pop up in the trailer for Reach Me. Written and directed by John Herzfeld, the upcoming ensemble film’s story centers around said characters whose lives are somehow affected by a self-help book (the titular Reach Me) written by a mysterious recluse of an author. Their lives converge as they attempt to track the author down.

Herzfeld has made a career mostly directing made-for-TV movies based on real life events, including The Ryan White Story (1989), and Don King: Only in America (2007). His ventures into feature film making include the crime drama 2 Days in the Vally (1996) starring Danny Aiello, and James Spader, and tbe thriller 15 Minutes (2001) starring Robert De Niro, Edward Burns, and Kelsey Grammer.

Grammer and Aiello reunite with Herzfeld for Reach Me. The (large) cast also includes Sylvester Stallone (ringmaster of The Expendables), Thomas Jane (The Mist, White Bird On a Wire), Kevin Connolly (TV’s Entourage), Kyra Sedgwick (TV’s The Closer), Terry Crewes (TV’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Tom Berenger (Inception), Danny Trejo (Machete), and hip-hop artist Nelly.

None of Herzfeld’s feature films have been massive successes, but with a cast as broad as the one in Reach Me, he mays just buck that trend this year.

The film is set for release on October 24th.
