According to Variety, the young All the Money in the World star Charlie Plummer is now set to star in Spontaneous, a sci-fi fantasy adaption. There, he will act alongside actress Katherine Langford with direction from Brian Duffield. Adapted from a novel by Aaron Starmer, the film follows the exploits of a high school senior (Langford) who, along with her fellow students, may burst into flames at any moment. Hopefully she makes it beyond the first few pages or this may be a short film.
Plummer played the grandson held for ransom in Ridley Scott’s All the Money in the World, which created quite a media storm when Christopher Plummer (no relation to Charlie Plummer) replaced Kevin Spacey as J. Paul Getty in the film following accusations of sexual misconduct on the part of Mr. Spacey.
For those enamored with Plummer’s performance in All the Money in the World, they don’t have to wait until Spontaneous to see him again on the big screen. He will also be acting in the movie Lean on Pete, which opens on March 30th. Lean on Pete follows Plummer as he gets a summer job working for a horse trainer and befriends a fading racehorse named Lean on Pete. The film also stars Travis Fimmel (Warcraft), Chloe Sevigny (Bloodline), and Steve Buscemi (Boardwalk Empire).
As of now, there is no known release date for Spontaneous.
