Charlie Plummer joins ‘Words on Bathroom Walls’ and ‘Gully’

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Charlie Plummer has signed on to star in the Thor Freudenthal-helmed Words on Bathroom Walls. The Diary of Wimpy Kid director will take on a Nick Naveda script and now has an up-and-coming star to work with. Plummer most recently worked alongside Michelle Williams and Christopher Plummer in All the Money in the World, the latter of which received an Oscar nomination for his performance.

Since starring in the acclaimed film, the young Plummer is set to have quite the busy schedule. In addition to the Words on Bathroom Walls role, he’s also booked a lead role in Nabil Elderkin’s directorial debut Gully. There he will star alongside fellow up-and-comers Kelvin Harrison Jr. (It Comes at Night) and Jacob Latimore (The Chi). With script from Marcus Guillory, the story will follow three teenagers, all victims of harsh childhoods living a dystopian version of L.A., running a riot of self-indulgence as the try to find a way in life.

However, before being seen in either Gully or Walls, Plummer will next grace his presence on the big screen in Lean on Pete, which will be released by A24 on April 8 after playing recently at SXSW. He’s also in an untitled Pippa Bianco film, also to be distributed by A24, which is currently in post-production. Get used to this 18-year-old’s face, because it doesn’t look like he’s going away any time soon.

Tyler Rowean: Tyler graduated from Chapman University with a degree in Film Studies. He loves to watch movies, especially anything distributed by A24. When he's not writing film reviews or reading everything David Ehrlich writes on Indiewire, he likes to stay active by either running, playing pick-up basketball or soccer, rock climbing, or just hitting the gym. He loves cinema from the German Expressionism era and his favorite film is Nosferatu.
