Deadline reports that The Photograph and Bad Hair star Chanté Adams has been cast in A Journal for Jordan. The film stars Michael B. Jordan and is directed by two-time academy award winning actor Denzel Washington.
The film is based on a 2008 novel of the same name written by Dana Canedy, while Mudbound scribe Virgil Williams has adapted the Canedy memoir.
The story follows a true story about the then journalist Dana Canedy(Adams) and a love affair she had with Charles Monroe King. While overseas during war, King kept a journal for their son Jordan. Filled with heartbreak and love, it is clear that the film has the ability to be a fantastic production.
Adams is looking at a gigantic next few years in the industry as in addition to landing the lead in this, the 25 year-old actor has recently been cast in a reboot TV series of the film A League of Their Own for Amazon. That reboot also stars Abbi Jacobson(Broad City), D’Arcy Carden(The Good Place), and Gbemisola Ikumelo(Famalam).
This will be Denzel Washington’s fourth directorial outing, and the first since his 2016 Best Picture nominated film Fences. The 65 year-old actor is set to play Macbeth in an adaptation of the Shakespearean tragedy next year.
No release date is set, but this is shaping up to be an exciting film.
