

A24 has officially confirmed the release date for Celine Song’s new movie, Materialists. They confirmed the news via a post on X: “Save the date. Celine Song’s MATERIALISTS 6.13.2025.” With a June 13th release date officially announced, fans of Song are likely very excited.
Materialists stars Dakota Johnson, known for her roles in the Fifty Shades film series and The Social Network, Chris Evans, known for his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Pedro Pascal, known for his roles in The Last of Us and The Mandalorian. In addition to this starring cast, the supporting cast will feature Zoe Winters (Succession), Marin Ireland (Hell or High Water), Dasha Nekrasova (Succession), and Louisa Jacobson (The Gilded Age).
Materialists takes place in New York City and is a romantic comedy about a matchmaker, played by Johnson. She is torn between her perfect match and her ex.
Song’s previous film, Past Lives, debuted in 2023 and received critical acclaim, including two Oscar nods. In a 2023 interview for a feature about The Hollywood Reporter’s Young Filmmaker of the Year, Song said:
I didn’t know I knew how to make a movie until I was doing it, and then once I was doing it, I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m going to do this until I die.’
