My heart is broken. Rob Reiner was the absolute warmest, funniest, most generous of spirits. A truly good human being. An incredible artist and such a playful and fun collaborator. I cherish the time we spent working together and the many films he made that have shaped who I am.
Rob and his wife Michele were always so kind and it brought so much joy anytime I was lucky enough to see them.

He was one of the greatest directors of our time. He was a friend. He was simply a beautiful person. Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle were two of the most kind and caring souls you could ever imagine. He cared so much for those who don’t have voices. This loss is devastating. I cannot express how much this hurts. Love you Rob and Michelle. Thank you for all you gave us.

The NY Post also detailed 2 different incidents caused by supposed influencers outside the Reiner home where the crimes occurred. One alleged incident saw a car parked right outside blasting music and allegedly live-streaming directly outside the property, with police allegedly asking multiple times for the volume to be turned down. A second alleged incident occurred when another individual, who was allegedly live-streaming, began claiming he was being harassed and assaulted, although none of that was caught on the NY Post’s video. There were also posts about comedian Larry David and Billy Crystal being seen at the house shortly after their friends were murdered. A teary-eyed Billy Crystal was video’d leaving the Reiner home with his wife, Janice Monday morning. Crystal starred in When Harry Met Sally, one of Reiner’s most recognizable films as a director.
Beyond the obvious tragic nature of this situation, it’s worth noting that Rob Reiner’s newest film is surging on HBO Max charts. As the world mourns the loss of one of the best of us, Spinal Tap 2: The End Continues is currently at 5 on the streamer’s trending chart. The film wasn’t a major commercial success, earning $3.3 million at the global box office, but the film is looking to continue Reiner’s legacy on streaming and broaden its audience. The film followed up 1984’s This Is Spinal Tap and currently sits at 66% on the Tomatometer, but a strong 90% with fans on the Popcornmeter.
As the world continues to mourn the lives and legacy of Rob and Michelle Reiner, we offer our collective condolences at MXDWN to 2 great people who did nothing but strive to make our world a better place.
