The 9th Life of Louis Drax now has a full roster of actors to walk the red carpet at its premiere next year. Oliver Platt, Molly Parker, Barbara Hershey, and Aiden Longworth have joined the cast that already includes Aaron Paul and Jamie Dornan in lead roles.
Based on Liz Jensen’s bestseller of the same name, the film will revolve around a boy named Louis Drax, his miraculous survival after a long fall, and the suspicions that surround those circumstances. Longworth will play nine-year-old Louis Drax, Oliver Platt (Kill the Messenger) the boy’s psychologist, Molly Parker (Netflix’s House of Cards) a character named Detective Dalton, and Barbara Hershey (Black Swan) the boy’s grandmother.
The characters will set out to solve what really happened to Louis when he fell, with suspicions settling on Aaron Paul’s character Peter, the boy’s father. Dornan, who will be fresh off of appearing as Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey, will play his doctor. Based on the premise of the book, audiences can surmise that this movie will certainly bend what all the characters see as reality and fantasy as they try and figure out just why the boy fell as well as why he’s been plagued by mysterious happenings his entire life.
Filming has already begun on The 9th Life of Louis Drax, which is being directed by horror maestro Alexandre Aja (Horns, Piranha 3D). The movie is set to open some time in 2015.
