English actress Carey Mulligan, known for films such as Drive and Wildlife, is set to star in the thriller Promising Young Woman. The project will be directed by Emerald Fennell, who is an actress in shows like The Crown and showrunner on the second season of the Sandra Oh-led thriller series Killing Eve.

Promising Young Woman will follow Cassie (Mulligan), a young woman tormented by some form of tragedy from her past life. She then begins to get revenge on predatory men who happen to come into her way.

Fennell will also produce the picture along with LuckyChap Entertainment and FilmNation. Production is believed to begin sometime in the spring but there is very little known about the film as it remains in the early stages of development.

Robert Thornson Jr.: My name is Robert and I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of California Irvine. I am pursuing a B.A. in Film and Media studies with hopes to work in the creative industry. I have always had a passion for storytelling and since youth I've loved film. I grew up loving the movies of directors like Wes Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese, David Fincher, and many more along with writers such as Aaron Sorkin and Quentin Tarantino. One thing I have always done is write about movies and communicate to others information about the "film community" and the industry as well as about the films themselves. I write creatively on a daily basis.
