After the devastating death of Pope Francis on April 21st, Catholic Cardinals are flocking to the film Conclave for guidance. Conclave is a drama built around the papal conclave, which is the process of selecting a new pope. While the film may take some liberties with its story, many are saying that it holds many truths and accuracies concerning this secretive event.

Conclave has been a go-to for many Cardinals, since a large portion of them have not experienced a real conclave for themselves. Many hope that the film’s insight will prepare them for the real thing.

According to Politico, a selection of the 133 clerics which entered the Sistine Chapel on Wednesday have seen Conclave themselves, some even having gone to the cinemas.

Conclave was already doing well, with eight Oscar nominations it was nothing to bat an eye at, and now the film has received its second wind. Conclave stars Ralph Fiennes, John Lithgow, Stanley Tucci, Lucian Msamati, and Isabella Rossellini. It also has received many positive reviews from critics.
