Captain Marvel is next up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe lineup and is obviously highly anticipated. It will be the last film released before Avengers: Endgame and may help relieve some of the tension that has been building up since last May as we all eagerly await any piece of info that may hint at what will happen next. It also introduces one of Marvel’s most powerful heroes, Carol Danvers (a.k.a. Captain Marvel), who we have not yet seen on the big screen.
Now we will be getting a sneak peak of the film before its March release. ESPN announced that there will be a special look at the film aired during the College Football Playoff National Championship on January 7. From past similar “special looks,” it is likely to be an extended TV spot, which may or may not have some new footage. This would be a great opportunity for Marvel to create some extra hype for the film, though they don’t need to worry too much as it’s already one of the most anticipated movies of 2019.
Marvel, secretive as usual, has kept much of the info on this release on heavy lockdown. We still do not know what characters some of the actors will be playing, such as Jude Law, whose character name has been revised multiple times but never confirmed. Hopefully more information will be released in the next few weeks leading up to the release, and we anticipate new footage in that sneak peak airing on January 7.
Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8, 2019.
