Camila Mendes is going to star on Amazon with MGM and Mattle in the upcoming He-Man Movie. Mendes has been cast as Teela who fans of the original shows and toys will know as the captain of the royal guard of Eternia who serves as one of the allies and occasional love interest of the prince, Adam more commonly known as He-Man, his magical alter ego imbued to him with a sword. The film production is being led by Laika’s own Travis Knight, who can be recolonized from his accomplished stop motion films like Kubo and the Two Strings.

Together He-Man and other heroes like Teela protect the world from evil such as the ever-fantastic Skelator. While confirmation for He-Man’s actor, Nicholas Galitzine, has been shared it is unknown who will be playing Skelator or even other connected characters or if they will appear in the film at all. In the early show, Teela is the adopted daughter of the Man of Arms the forger of the weapons for the royal family of Eternia. It is unknown how closely to the early source material the studio plans to be and if the new feature film plans to tackle its unique adventure.

Mendes, best known for her role in Riverdale is staying quiet about the film as most of the production is currently under a hush-hush order. The plot and the rest of the cast and crew are mostly still under wraps but it is with good news that the date of June 5 2026 is set for the film’s release.
