Jamie Foxx announced on social media that Cameron Diaz is returning to acting and will be joining him for a new Netflix movie titled Back in Action which will be directed by Horrible Bosses’ Seth Gordon and will be based on a script he wrote with Neighbors screenwriter Brendan O’Brien. The plot is yet to be revealed.
Diaz’s last role was in the movie adaptation of Annie in 2014, which also featured Foxx. The two actors have also collaborated in Any Given Sunday directed by Oliver Stone.
Foxx made the announcement on Twitter, sharing audio from a phone call with Diaz who can’t seem to find the words to tell the public she’s returning to acting. So Foxx brought on Tom Brady, who famously retired from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers only to return 40 days later.
