Bruce Glover was a screen and stage actor. IMDb states that Glover’s “instinct for acting showed very early” as he would put on shows for his mother at the age of three. Glover had no professional training as The Hollywood Reporter said “Glover was a natural who never went to acting school or took an acting class – yet taught acting throughout his career, by most accounts quite effectively.” He eventually taught acting in Los Angeles for some years.
The untrained actor took on many roles and has an immense 116 acting credits. He starred on Broadway as well. He was in The Night of the Iguana with Bette Davis and Mother Courage and Her Children with Anne Bancroft. Some of his other acting roles include Chinatown, Walking Tall, Hard Times, Diamonds are Forever and many others per Variety.
Glover emphasized the importance of uniqueness and in 2019 he said “If I am anything as an actor, it is that I will never be the usual…I will be the unusual, and I intend to continue that whatever I am doing, whether it be acting, or I’m writing, or I am going to be paintingor whatever I am going to be doing. It is uniquely my own.”
Bruce Glover’s son, Crispin Glover, took after his father and is also an actor. Crispin Glover reported the sad news that his father had died on March 12 at 92 years old via Instagram. Glover is survived by his two sons Crispin and Michael Leigh Glover.
