Brit McAdams’ ‘Paint’ Signs on Owen Wilson, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Michaela Watkins and Stephen Root

Indie director Brit McAdams has signed on some big names to star in their new film Paint, including Owen Wilson, Michaela Watkins, Stephen Root, Wendi McLendon-Cove, Ciara Renee and Lusia Strus. The film is being produced by Sam Maydew of Silver Lining Entertainment and is currently shooting in upstate New York.

The film follows Carl Nargle, the host of Vermont’s #1 painting show for the last 27 years whose career is changed when the station hires a younger and better painter that steals everything and everyone Carl Loves. McAdams also wrote the script for the film, which landed on the Blacklist back in 2010.

McAdams is known for co-directing the 2006 documentary Triviatown and for her directing work on various shorts and TV series. Paint marks her Feature Narrative film debut.

WIlson is known mostly for his work in various comedies and frequent collaborations with director Wes Anderson. He most recently starred in Mike Cahill’s 2021 Amazon Prime film, Bliss, alongside Salma Hayek.

Co-star Michaela Watkins has acted in television series like Bigmouth, Transparent and American Dad. The actress is also set to star in the upcoming live-action film adaptation of Ubisoft’s VR game, Werewolves Within.

There’s no release date currently set for the upcoming film, but considering filming is already underway, we should be seeing more soon.
