It’s official! After Joe Russo, co-director of the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, shot down rumors that Captain Marvel (to be played by Oscar winner Brie Larson) would appear in the 2018 film, many fans have been wondering and speculating as to when she would finally show up in the franchise. It looks as though her standalone Captain Marvel film may come first in the lineup, but after that, she will be appearing in the Infinity War sequel, or what is now being referred to as Avengers 4.
This bit of major news was confirmed by Atlanta Filming on Twitter, as they have reported that Brie Larson has arrived at Pinewood Studios where filming has officially been underway for the film.
Hi… #BrieLarson :) (And #ChrisEvans…) Like Chris is an after thought when Brie is here.

This is exciting news for Captain Marvel and the MCU in general. Since the announcement of this new Avenger, Marvel has offered very little in the way of concrete news for her inclusion into the tentpole. Comic-Con brought concept artwork, a loose idea of the upcoming plot for her standalone, and the announcement that Samuel L. Jackson would also be in the movie. It isn’t until this point that fans have gotten a sure sense of her inclusion into the Avengers juggernaut.
Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8, 2019, while Avengers 4 will follow very soon after on May 3.
