BREAKING NEWS Val Kilmer Passes Away

On Tuesday The Associated Press reported the passing of Val Kilmer. The actor was best known for his roles in Batman Forever as the Batman, Tombstone, and Top Gun. Kilmer is survived by his daughter Mercedes Kilmer. Val Kilmer was 65.

As a graduate of Julliard Kilmer began his career as an off Broadway actor before landing the role of Iceman in Top Gun acting opposite Tom Cruise, with the film’s success Kilmer then enjoyed the rise to stardom going to play his most famous role as the Batman.

Kilmer was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2015 and for the last few years been bedridden undergoing treatment. After chemotherapy and a short period following where he was cancer free Kilmer passed after struggling with his continuing deteriorating health.

The chemotherapy left Kilmer mute leading to his final feature film appearance in Top Gun: Maverick where his voice was digitally enhanced so that his lines could be audible.

Kilmer was married to Joanne Whalley, with whom he met and co-starred in Willow, for eight years. They had two children together before divorcing in 1996.

Kilmer’s roles beyond his most know were the voice of Moses in DreamWorks animated masterpiece The Prince Of Egypt, The Doors, Top Secret!, and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
