The latest take on the Man of Steel hit theaters earlier this year, as James Gunn kicked off the new DC Universe with Superman. While many classic characters got a chance to return to the big screen, some icons of Superman’s legacy made their film debut with it, and one in particular has started gathering a much bigger audience.
Although Krypto the Superdog has been prevalent in comics since his 1955 debut, it took him until this year to share the spotlight with Supes in a live action medium. With his live action debut, it’s safe to say that Krypto stole the show, helping to draw attention to the character and even leading to a huge increase in dog adoptions in the US.
Months after the film’s release, a short animated special with Krypto as the focal point has been released. This is the third in a string of animated specials, as ScreenRant notes, all joining together with the title Krypto Saves The Day!
The latest short is called Package Pandemonium, which was posted directly to the DC Kids YouTube account, and will be linked below. It entrenches itself in the Christmas season as Krypto soars through Metropolis, fully decorated for the holidays, closely following an enchanting smell from a mail truck.
