The Mgarr-ix Xini beach on the Gozo island of Malta was closed to the public yesterday, while set construction for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s movie completed, as reported by The Malta Independent. By the Sea will begin filming on the beaches of Malta’s second-largest island, Gozo. The beaches will be closed to the public until November 10. It was reported that construction is going well and half of the structures set to be built are completed. By the Sea is written and directed by Jolie and will star Pitt. Universal Pictures picked up the rights to the drama earlier this year and while plot details have yet to be revealed, a fun teaser was announced that Jolie and Pitt, while they are not married in real life, will play a married couple on screen. The Maltese Islands would appear a personal favorite spot for Pitt, as the actor has traveled there previously to shoot both World War Z and the 2004 Greek epic, Troy.
