Bond 24 Announces Full Cast and Title: ‘Spectre’

Ever since the announcement on Tuesday of today’s livestream event from Pinewood Studios in the UK, Bond fans have been waiting impatiently for information on the next entry in the franchise. Now, finally, we know the title – Spectre, after the infamous global terrorist organization of the same name – and the full cast, which includes Daniel Craig, Christoph Waltz, Ralph Fiennes, and more.

The livestream was aired on the official website for the James Bond movies, www.007.com, and revealed several pieces of information about the cast as well as the full crew of the film. Daniel Craig is returning as 007, Ralph Fiennes is returning as M, along with Ben Winshaw as Q, Rory Kinnear as Tanner, and Naomi Harris as Moneypenny. The 24th film will feature newcomers to the series Andrew Scott (Pride) as Denbigh and the long-rumored and now-confirmed Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) as Mr. Hinx. In somewhat surprising news, Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained) will be playing Oberhauser rather than his rumored role of Blofeld. As previously reported, the movie will also feature Léa Seydoux as Madeleine Swann as well as Monica Bellucci (The Passion of the Christ) as Lucia Sciarra.

Skyfall‘s director Sam Mendes will be returning for Spectre, along with writers John Logan, Neil Purvis, and Rob Wade. The movie will film all over the world, from Pinewood Studios to Rome, Austria to Mexico City. The titular organization, Spectre, is an acronym known from all the classic Bond films: Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge, and Extortion. And for those wondering just how possible it will be for this newest film to survive in a crowded marketplace more than 50 years after the franchise was launched, just remember that Skyfall, the 23rd film in the series, brought in $1.1 billion worldwide, making it the most financially successful film in the Bond series.

Spectre will be released on November 6, 2015.
