The annual festivities of New York Comic Con are well underway, with many reveals from countless companies taking place. Blumhouse is no stranger to this, unveiling new details about their upcoming productions during their own BlumFest panel. Blumhouse’s latest tentpole film is taking shape in the form of Black Phone 2, the follow-up to 2021’s The Black Phone. The full cast and crew were gathered at NYCC to share their thoughts on the film, which follows the sole survivor of the first film having to face off against The Grabber once again.
While all of them had positive thoughts and plenty of excitement for the sequel, which hits theaters this Friday, Ethan Hawke, who plays The Grabber, elaborated on how the premise of the sequel spoke to him. After getting a call from writer/director Scott Derickson, Hawke was immediately transfixed by the premise, explaining that “it was breathtaking. Just the dream of the movie, everything that it was.” He finished off his thoughts by saying he believes fans will be satisfied with the final product once they get to see it.
Another of their upcoming staples, Five Nights At Freddy’s 2, got plenty of time to shine at the con, as Hollywood Reporter notes. Still a few months out from its December debut, the voice cast for several of the animatronic characters of the films have been revealed.
Hollywood Reporter noted that it was revealed that the “Toy” versions of the animatronics from the games would appear in the second film. Toy Freddie will be voiced by Kellen Goff, who voiced the character in several of the games. Megan Fox will be playing Toy Chica, while YouTube star and FNAF expert MatPat will play Toy Bonnie.
