‘Blue Caprice’ Trailer Releases

While the film premiered at Sundance earlier this year, the trailer for Blue Caprice has recently been released giving general audiences their first look at the psychological thriller which tells the story of the Beltway sniper attacks.

The events known as the Beltway sniper attacks took place in Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. over a three week period in 2002. Ten people were killed and three more critically injured in the shootings. John Allen Muhammed and his adopted son Lee Boyd Malvo had operated out of a blue Chevrolet Caprice along Interstate 95. Muhammed was executed for the murders in 2009 and Malvo was given six life senteces.

Isaiah Washington (Out of Sight) plays the role of Muhammed while Tequan Richmond (Ray) is cast as Malvo. Joey Lauren Adams (Dazed and Confused), Tim Blake Nelson (Lincoln) and Leo Fitzpatrick (HBO’s The Wire) are all cast in supporting roles.

While this chilling exploration of madness may be well-crafted, it is undoubtedly difficult to watch and may not see much mainstream success.

Blue Caprice is directed by Alexandre Moors and will have a limited September 13th release.
