Bill Skarsgard, Murray Bartlett, and Noah Jupe are set to swashbuckle with Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer in A24’s The Death of Robin Hood, per The Hollywood Reporter. A darker take on the Robin Hood legend, the film will follow the famous outlaw as he deals with his earlier life of crime and murder while being badly injured and held captive by a mysterious woman. Jackman also serves as executive producer. The film began production in Northern Ireland earlier this week, with Pig and A Quiet Place: Day One director Michael Sarnoski at the helm.
Skarsgard can currently be seen in Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu and is best known for his role as Pennywise the Clown in the two-part adaptation of Stephen King’s It. Bartlett has received praise as the resort manager in the first season of The White Lotus, The Last of Us, and Welcome To Chippendales. Jupe has previously been seen as the best friend of the protagonist in Wonder, as the young son Marcus in A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place Part II, Matt Damon’s son in Suburbicon, and the son of Christian Bale’s character in Ford v. Ferrari.
A release date has yet to be scheduled for The Death of Robin Hood as of this writing.
