Benicio Del Toro May Star in ‘Predator’ Reboot

According to Deadline, Academy Award winner Benicio Del Toro (Sicario) is being eyed to star in 20th Century Fox’s reboot of Predator. The 1987 original starred Arnold Schwarzenegger (Terminator Genisys). Director Shane Black (Iron Man 3) will helm from a script by Fred Dekker (Monster Squad). Coincidentally, Black was in the original Predator movie as the first of Arnold’s men to fall victim to the creature.

Del Toro has completed shooting Terrence Malick’s Weightless and Star Wars: Episode VIII which is currently in post-production. He is set to star in the crime biography The Corporation and in the crime drama Soldado, the sequel to Sicario in which Del Toro reprises his role as Alejandro.

The Predator is scheduled to bow on February 9, 2018.
