Ben Stiller and Oscar Issac are teaming up for a new Lionsgate film, London. Stiller will serve as director while Issac will star in the new film, according to Deadline. Just last year, Stiller earned an Emmy nomination for his directing on the miniseries Escape at Dannemora.
The new film is being written by Eric Roth, who based the film on a short story written by author Jo Nesbo. Roth was previously nominated for an Oscar for his writing on the movie A Star is Born and previously won an Oscar for writing on Forest Gump. Nesbo is most notably known for his 2007 horror novel The Snowman.
In addition to starring and directing the film, Issac and Stiller will also both produce the film. Issac is producing under his Mad Gene Media banner while Stiller is producing under his Red Hour production banner. Nesbo will serve as an executive producer for the film while Brady Fujikawa and Scott O’Brien will oversee production for Lionsgate.
As of now, no plot details have been released about the short story in question. But, Nesbo typically writes in the horror, thriller, and crime genre, so it’s not too much of a stretch to guess it will most likely be in that genre.
