Ben Affleck Leaves ‘Triple Frontier’

Ben Affleck is no longer on board to act in the upcoming project Triple Frontier. The film has been described as a thriller, but it looks like the drama occurring off the screen may prove even more intriguing.

Currently, it is being produced by Netflix, though it looks like Affleck’s departure may not provide too big of a setback for its creators, who have been struggling with disruptions for about eight years now. After working to bring the film to audiences since 2009, the team focusing on Triple Frontier has cycled through cast members and shifted directors from Kathryn Bigelow (Zero Dark Thirty) to J.C. Chandor (A Most Violent Year), making any possible difficulties the new normal. Actors Mahershala Ali and Adriona Arjona are still currently attached to the project about the border zone between Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil.

While Affleck fans may miss him, it seems like this is a positive direction for the actor, allowing him to prioritize “his wellness and family.” This may also explain his departure from more central role in Batman production. While he was originally on board to both write and direct an eventual solo Batman film with his portrayal of Bruce Wayne, his script will no longer be used and his position as director has already been replaced by Matt Reeves.

Those who may miss Affleck’s work may be contented in the fact that he will appear in the Justice League film, airing on November 17 of this year.
