Marvel fans were treated to some behind-the-scenes footage of both Ant-Man and Avengers: Age of Ultron as part of the special presentation Marvel: 75 Years, From Pulp to Pop, which aired on ABC last night. The show celebrated the storied history of the Marvel Brand, and while we’ve seen number of Avengers clips and trailers already, this was our first look at Ant-Man footage.
The clips don’t provide much in the way of spoilers, as they are mostly B-roll from the films. We do, however, get to see Paul Rudd’s introduction to his new Ant-Man suit. Rudd’s Ant-Man possesses the ability to shrink in scale yet increase in strength. Michael Douglas joins Rudd in the film as his mentor Hank Pym, who must help him navigate his superpowers. The film is slated for a July 17th, 2015 opening.
The Avengers footage is primarily assorted shots of the team in action. The film, toplined by Robert Downey Jr. (The Judge) and Chris Hemsworth (Thor), focuses on Iron Man Tony Stark’s efforts to restart a dormant peacekeeping program. Also featuring Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johannson, Jeremy Renner, and Samuel L. Jackson, the Joss Whedon helmed film is scheduled for a May 1st, 2015 release.
