The caped crusader has been on a hot streak lately, between the stage being set for his appearance in the DC Universe as well as production moving forward on the sequel for The Batman. On top of that, one of the most revered pieces of Batman media, Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman, will be returning to theaters August 25th.
Starring Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne, Batman finds the caped crusader up against his biggest adversary yet; the deranged clown prince of crime, Joker. Played by Jack Nicholson, Joker is hellbent on taking over the city and ruling Gotham in his own sadistic way, with only Batman being able to stand against him.
Tim Burton’s take on the character introduced many now iconic aspects of Batman. From the dark suit, to Danny Elfman’s theme, and even the numerous gadgets he uses, Batman and its sequel Batman Returns shaped the way many see the caped crusader nowadays.
Both Batman and Batman Returns are coming back to the big screen, only for the night of August 25th. But not only are they back in theaters, but they’ll be back in Dolby.
Collider notes that the film was remastered for both picture and sound, optimizing both for the Dolby format.
