The highly anticipated Barbie film, directed by Greta Gerwig, is finally set to release in theaters on July 21st. One particular scene from the trailer has caught the attention of audiences—the iconic Barbie foot scene.
Barbie is renowned for her stylish heels and perfectly curved feet that fit the shoes flawlessly. The trailer showcases Barbie walking effortlessly, showcasing her high curved heels. This scene sparked a lively debate on social media, with many questioning whether the feet actually belonged to Margot Robbie.
In an interview with Fandango, Robbie clarified that the feet shown in the scene are indeed hers. She expressed her preference for performing such scenes herself, without the need for a body double. Robbie revealed that it disrupts her movie-going experience when she knows it’s not her in her own scenes, and she always conveys her desire to the director.
Robbie also provided some insight into the shooting process and the efforts she undertook to capture the perfect shot for the camera.
“I walked up, and we had little sticky bits on the floor—double-sided tape for the shoes—so they wouldn’t come off, allowing me to easily slip my feet out of them,” Robbie explained.
The star-studded cast of the film includes actors such as Ryan Gosling, Issa Rae, Will Ferrell, and more. As anticipation continues to build for the release, fans eagerly await the film, with the trailer providing a temporary fix to hold them over.
